PALMERSTON ROAD, HAVELOCK NORTH Retaining Wall
This project is valued at $70,000.00.
The job consists of: - Excavating out the side of a hill . - Dismantling existing wall. - Constructing foundations. - Pumping in concrete at a 45 degree angle due to height of house and wall. - Constructing crib wall - Filling crib wall, backfilling behind crib wall and compacting. - Setting up retaining wall , laying nova flow pipe and back filling walls.
Challenges include: Shaping the existing Havelock North pan which is extremely hard. The tight drive and steepness of section made it difficult to remove cut to waste. Pumping in the concrete foundations wasn't an easy task due to the distance and angle. Constructing the crib wall and backfilling needed to be done with care and precision because of the constricted work area.
